In this post I will share with you a few ways to dispel low moods and feel like you again. ‘Despite this blog being about things that should awaken and uplift humans,I really feel the need to share this post – Coley Awakend.’
Firstly let’s admit, some days it’s hard to dispel low moods and show up for the world let alone yourself. Even committing to everyday tasks can begin to bore a person and make them feel somewhat average. When conversations are predictable and only seem to last a couple of minutes, it can be disappointing. A small number of friends who aren’t officially confidants yet rarely listen to your needs, or genuinely check to see how you are. This is shattering also.
These are just a few scenarios or experiences that can leave one feeling emotionally deflated, empty in life, and low in mood.Especially if it’s happening all the time.
A sense of belonging
A sense of belonging is not easy to come by. Some people or experts might suggest its all down to a change in mindset. But I think it’s much more than that. It’s a combination of factors. When people respect or share similar values this can bring a sense of belonging because it reveals a mutual connection that can lead to something stronger.
A sense of belonging also comes from reading and connecting with the word of God. It helps you see yourself purely through the creators eyes, regardless of your current circumstances. Self acceptance can also stem from this.
Praying 🙏🏽
The beauty of praying is that you can share anything you like with God without any judgement. God loves us unconditionally, and understands everything we are going through. Take the time everyday to release all your thoughts and desires with God anywhere you wish.
Journaling ✍🏽
Similarly, this method is really helpful. Dump everything you feel on paper, and if you lose momentum on what to write next, keep breathing and keep going. Releasing everything externally in a safe place made me feel relieved and free up thinking space to tackle other tasks. After recently discovering a free app last week Morning pages, it has been my tool for daily journaling. You can set word counts and it summarizes your writing mood on each day. Plus the app is offering a 7 day free trial.
Exercising 🕺🏽
The human body needs to move. Dancing, doing squats, or skipping are some fun ways to do that. As blood circulation increases, oxygen flows better allowing toxins to be flushed out and feel good chemicals called endorphins to be triggered. Resulting in stress and pain relief and increased focus levels.Commit to 10 minutes of exercise per day then set bigger goals when your body is ready.
Cleaning 🧹
In addition, cleaning or tidying a frequently used space can help massively too. Last week I sporadically re-arranged furniture in my bedroom and I immediately felt re-balanced and proud that I had accomplished this by myself. Ensuring your environment is comfortable will set the tone for the rest of your day or night time sleep.

Break the cycle! Dispel low moods and feel like you again
To sum up, when going through this cycle it’s difficult to feel like you and feel valued. Some times it difficult to face the world and genuinely feel happy no matter how much you try. It can even be exhausting and super hard to concentrate a lot of the time which can produce negative thoughts of being unproductive and feeling guilty. This can rupture into asking yourself many questions and not being able to find the answers which can then prevent you from feeling settled in mind, body and soul.
This audiobook helped me on my journey.
As well as trying one of these methods every day it can help you dispel low moods and feel like you again. Finally free and able to experience some sense of true peace even if it’s temporary.
