God will show you ‘The One’ might sound slightly alien to you. In a world hooked on instant gratification. Smartphones held in almost every hand and pocket. Humans buying things conveniently at the click of a button. The ability to see every part of the world at your fingertips within seconds. PLUS the plethora of single’s available on dating websites. It makes it a lot harder to wait for the finer/long lasting things in life like ‘The One’ who you will marry one day. Share an oath with that binds the two of you together “until death do us part”.
Certainly, no matter what don’t lose sight of what God has planned for you. Instead of settling believe that God will show you ‘The One’.
A beautiful example
I discovered a great book a few years ago that is based on this topic. Titled ‘The Wait’.
Co-Authors Meagan Good and her husband Devon Franklin talk about the times leading up to their initial meeting. In particular their period of courtship. And how it blossomed from that day forward. Today they are still married. From the outlook they look stronger than ever. All because they both decided to wait patiently for God to do the introducing and formation of a beautiful relationship that has pure substance.
God will show you ‘The One’ – In today’s society
Society puts out subliminal messages in entertainment, media, even in Disney films for women to be married or with someone in order to be ‘complete’. A lot of the time social media is used to advertise our greatest assets as women and men. This kind of worldly attention must feel great for the ego but God would rather women keep their dignity, protect our body’s and not be so vulnerable to the wrong kind of attention from all angles of the world.
Nowadays, with temptations being so much stronger. It’s so easy for women to feel like they should just settle for the guy who is showing them enough attention in that moment. Or settle for the ex who once loved openly but now has lost the desire to re-spark a true connection. Some might ask if women should play hard to get? However, the key word that women should try and practice is patience.
Ask God for guidance through prayer.
One day…God will show you ‘The One’
Patience is a quality that you will exemplify and the man that loves you will honour that. It is a deep knowing that something greater is around the corner. Patience takes will power and faith in God and in yourself that you are making the best decision because it aligns with your values.
God will show you ‘The One’ – Interesting media
Here in a documentary ‘Leftover women ‘ set in China. It reveals lives of professional women. Who are being constantly confronted and pressured about being single if they are not married young.
Further more, Faith Jenkins explains her reasons for getting married in her 40’s and the introspection journey she went on whilst waiting and not settling. Listen to Faith’s inspiring account below 🙂
