Feeling sluggish? Got a long to-do list? What better way of refreshing your mind and skin than to take an African black soap bath. This mini ritual I created re-energised my Monday skin after working the weekend. If you have no time to take proper care of your skin during the working week try this out.
What is African black soap?
African black soap is unique. It comes from Western Africa. A region rich in ecology. Unlike any other bar soap you’ve smelt or touched, its appearance and texture is like food roughage. It emits an earthy smell because of the natural properties it contains. Ingredients are carefully selected. Ensuring maximum benefits, promoting healthier skin.
Why is this ritual necessary?
If your skin has product build up, clogged up, or appears flakey and heavy. It’s calling for a boost. The skin naturally renews itself through a process called desquamation. However, you have the power in your hands to aid this process by soaking the skin in African black soap.
How do I have an African black soap bath?
It’s really simple, follow the steps below:
- Clean and disinfect all areas of the bath tub.
- Insert the plug, turn on the hot water tap and allow the water to run.
- Add half a block or full block of African black soap to the water (Additionally, you can add 2-3 table spoons of Himalayan or Epsom salts. Personally, I love the ones from Westlab).
- Deposit a cotton flannel in the water to soak up all the goodness as the soap softens.
- Turn off tap when it reaches your desired amount.
- Add cold water so skin doesn’t burn.
- Relax in the bath for 10-15min.
- Use any big particles on the face as an express mask or on scars.
- Use cotton flannel all over body to smoothen skin.
