Do you remember your Art Teacher in school stressing the importance of why everyone needs a creative outlet?
If your answer is No, it’s okay because I think I have the answer.
It’s simple. Part of being human is to have a creative outlet.
What can a creative outlet do?
A creative outlet is a way to express your emotions, thoughts, and release new ideas.
It has the ability to create something so heartfelt or what some might call incredibly unimaginable.
The continent Africa has an abundance of creativity unlike any other part of the world. Many of the creators there draw inspiration from someone else’s story.

It can serve a message that can resonate with people or even start a trend.
Being creative can reduce the amount of fear, anxiety, or depression one carries.
It has the possibility to inject passion, self-love, and purpose back into your life.
5 simple types of creative outlets
- Journaling (Lay it all out on paper without judgement)
- Coloring in (Exercise your fingers and be bright)
- Smoothies (Think of a colour you love and combine fruit till you get it)
- Mantra (If you don’t like singing mantra is the next best thing)
- Walking in nature (Listen to the birds tweet and absorb all your surroundings)
From Monday to Friday pick one type and try it out. See if it raises your vibration or makes you feel excited about the next part of your day. Be mindful, be patient with yourself, and be kind. You don’t have to be perfect, just be yourself and it will come naturally.
After all, a creative outlet can remind you that you have unlimited ability. To create anything you desire in life. It doesn’t have to exist yet because you have the power within, to bring it into existence.
Recently I did exactly that. By having a trail of thoughts I transferred them on to paper and wrote this poem.
